This week, WHO intervened at discussions at the WTO to make a case for easier access for tests and treatments to fight COVID-19. Last year, when WHO advocated for the TRIPS waiver, its donors, some of them also opponents to the proposal were upset. This did not stop WHO DG Tedros from being a forceful champion of the waiver.
