Dear Readers,
This unique journalistic initiative has been a labor of love and work for the soul.
When I founded Geneva Health Files nearly four years ago, I did not imagine the heartfelt support and engagement from such a vibrant community of readers. It has been a long, fulfilling and an exciting journey.
I believe we are now coming to face up to one of our toughest moments yet – whether we will be able to continue our operations in the medium term without enough readers paying to support our journalism, and without predictable grant funding. We are doing all we can to ensure we show up and to continue our regular reporting on sensitive discussions taking place in the global health scene in Geneva that have implications for the future.
A reader-funded news organization helps maintain editorial independence and integrity to report on all things global health without fear or favor.
I am convinced that journalism has a role to play in global health.
We are often told that our reporting is seen as a valuable public service. These words of appreciation have undoubtedly kept us going, but they do not help us meet real world costs of production in one of the most expensive cities in the world.
So while we reach thousands of readers globally, a fraction of this readership are paying subscribers.
If you feel for our work and if you think that it is important enough for us to stay in the game, consider supporting us in one or more of the following ways.
Today we present to you a series of options that will help Geneva Health Files.
INDIVIDUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS
If you have been waiting to subscribe to us, here’s an offer from us: announcing the Black Friday Sale – a flat 40% off on all annual subscriptions until 28th November, 2023.
By becoming paying subscribers, you help support critical reporting on global health that contributes to greater accountability in decision-making.
GROUP SUBSCRIPTIONS
It is very flattering that our newsletters get sent around. If you routinely receive our painstakingly reported editions from a friend or a colleague, please sign up to become individual subscribers, or better still ask your institutional library or communications department to sign up for a group subscription.
We now offer unlimited access to institutions, above a certain base number of subscribers.
We also have discounts for institutional or group subscriptions. Get in touch with us if readers at your organization want to subscribe and we will set you up.
BECOME A SPONSOR
You can also support us by advertising with us announcing your books, podcasts, webinars, jobs and the like.
In addition, we also have our Sponsored Content Series, for those stakeholders who wish to reach our influential group of readers many of whom are decision-makers in global health. This is determined on a case-by-case basis with caution and discretion, in line with our editorial policies. Get in touch with us to know more.
Our 6000+ readership across nearly 130 countries includes diplomats, negotiators, policy-makers, global health experts, scholars, activists, lobbyists, industry, and students.
DONATE
You can, of course, also make donations to support our work. Donations can help meet our many costs from paying freelancers, to funding IT operations, from paying for business development to even absorbing childcare costs when I am working on weekends! Donations have been useful to cushion some of these recurring costs.
INTRODUCTIONS
We are also open to your suggestions on references to donors, potential business partners who may be aligned with our journalism and see the value of our efforts in bringing greater transparency to global health discussions in Geneva. So your introductions to the media funders will also be hugely helpful in spurring some of these conversations.
THANK YOU!
Finally, as always our deepest gratitude to our subscribers who have helped us keep the lights on. Without this engaged community, we would not have been able to do, what we do.
Sincerely,
Priti
